Project for St John of God

I really like being involved in the project with the class from the school. The students seem to really enjoy our presence. It is nice to see the participation of each student.  This week you could hear and see the excitement from the pupils of being the first class to ever make a film in the school. Words are not needed here to see the appreciation felt through the students participation.  To be aware of this is something I will be privileged to have being part of.  Every child is special this is captured within the excitement seen through all. Though one student felt sick that day so I seen her asking to leave. I hope she is involved more the next time we are their, I will keep an eye out for her myself.

Thanks again

This week in the class project, the first part of the scene was shot or filmed. The students tried on the uniforms for the play.  All the children liked being involved, The students themselves used the camera and filmed Polly running down the stairs. At the bottom of the stairs she got caught by her teacher and the school principle.  The students shot the scene for three different angles. The first was at a side angle from the stairs. Also the same scene from camera facing stairs, and the third scene was just a close up of Polly.  The scene needed to be redone a few times as actors forgot their lines when the camera was on them, so we decided to do it without the camera for them to be more comfortable with the camera. It went well in the end and all were happy.  The first scene was done down stairs in the corridor of the school.

Primary school project

Today we gave the pieces for polly the prankster to students to take part in the film.  A student was given a place as Polly, Teacher, Cleaner, Friends, Directors, and post production. All the students will get a part to do.  We also made posters, glue from slush, uniforms, and parts to act in. It was a very successful day, all students fully participated in their areas of participating in the film.

Project on St John of God’s School

The last few day’s in St john of God’s school we put the girls in groups to decide on what type film they would like the eventually decided on a setting up their teacher, but one girl would get the blame.  Through deciding this piece the girls were put into groups and they wrote out their decisions in how they felt the film would be best presented.  We then wrote up each Girls ideas on the board, and we had a voting session to see which one was the voted in.  We got the girls to draw pictures to make the best decision on how to present the piece, which was voted in. We also made groups to do photographs last week and we also looked at the video camera.  The school were on mid term break last week. We will be seeing them again this week.

I am writing a reflection on our project with St John of God primary school. We have decided on making a film with the class. They arte a lovely class. We have being attending the school for this project once a week.  The anticipation is very much evident in the participants in making this film. We have the plot and scenes established. Everybody took part in helping this to become evident. Next week we will be off for the mid term but after the break we will be deciding on who gets which piece to do in the film.  We will have foru groups to participate together to nominate the best actor for each scene. This will be a intense moment to decide on best actor, we will hope everybody is happy in the end.

23/01: SCRIPT SESSION

Last week the children decide to do a rom-com film genre. They also vote for the story that

they prefer among all they imagine.

The story that they liked was about Wreck it Ralph. He is in a park when an alien in a flying

saucer comes and makes the clouds rain. Then a chiken flies above the clouds, makes a rainbow and

stops the rain. The imagined end would be that Wreck it Ralph and the chicken become best friend

or lovers.

The idea behind this story is that we can helph them to create a script with it, by making

parallels. For example, Wreck it Ralph symbolizes a character where his physical appearence doesn’t

match to who he is inside. He is an anti-hero.

We also have an imperative: we can only shoot the movie at school or in a park near the

school, which means that the children will only have two kind of settings.

HOW TO WRITE A SCRIPT:

1| 2| [ 3 ] 4| 5| 6| 7|

1: Introduction

It is a situation that introduce the character.

2: The problem

3: Events/Adventure

Different events where the character struggle in order to solve the problem.

4: Element of resolution/Solving the problem

The character found a resolution for solving the problem.

5: Climax

The highest moment in the movie, in an emotional point of view. Most of the time is when

the character is solving the problem.

6: Punch line

Bring smoothely the end.

7: The end

PROCEEDINGS :

Elements :

– Hero: The main character is an anti-hero. It could be for example a pupil who likes to do

pranks and one day decides to stop.

– Aim: The aim of the movie can be on difference. Because the character is an antihero, she

wants to change but the other people will continue to see her as a prankster.

– End: The happy end should be about friendship, because we can’t really do a rom-com

happy ending.

– Settings: They can only shoot at shcoll and near school – a park.

With these elements, we can with the entire class try to find the main ideas for each steps of

the script. Then when they agree, the class should be split in 7 groups and wil try to write a step

-introduction or events…. .
